Hi everybody,
Just letting you know that due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we will operate as a takeaway from this weekend.
We'll be back to regular trade when everything calms down a bit and people are out and about again.

Such a beautiful setting catching up with friends for morning tea. Great service from the friendly staff. Coffee and food were terrific. Our group has booked Sal's for another get together.

What a wonderful day. We decided to take Saturday off. Salem, Michael and I walked from Marmong to Warners Bay, stopping at Sals by the Lake at Speers Point Park for a coffee. It's a not for profit, run by the Salvation Army, so all the profits go back into the community. And it has had a facelift and management change in the last few months. The coffee is excellent, and the manager is keen to be supportive of different diets. Extremely keto friendly, he had the chef make beautiful fresh herb omelettes for us. I wish I had taken a photo, because they were amazing, served with fresh pesto and sundried tomato and long sprigs of fresh dill. Not part of the normal menu, it was a beautiful treat.

I’ve heard some not great things about Sal’s in the past, but today when I brought my kids Speers Point Park for a ride on their bikes and a play, I decided to give it a go for lunch afterwards. The kids and I got some chips to share and a milkshake each and I thought the service was fantastic. The milkshakes came out quickly, and the staff were incredibly friendly and chatty with my children. When the chips came out shortly after, the staff member who brought them also didn’t hesitate to interact with my kids, and instead of pointing me in the direction of the cutlery and napkins, offered to get them for me. Two thumbs up for the staff members on today, it was a great experience!

Why are we different

Sal's by the lake is one of a kind for a few reasons.
- The obvious reason is the superb location in the middle of the excellent Speers Point Park. The cafe centrally located between the play areas and the lake and provide the best of both worlds.
- The second reason Sal's is one of a kind is less obvious...
All proceeds from the cafe's operations are channeled back into the community via The Salvation Army.
Our Cafe guests help people in need simply by sipping on a coffee or having lunch.
Come and check us out and help make a difference while drinking tea...
